Official Rules for the "Get More With Integration" Contest & Drawing
The "Get More With Integration" Contest (“Contest”) is designed to recognize and award innovative uses of Altera® products in applications that demonstrate the benefits of integration. To enter the Contest, participants must submit information about the design of their product using an online form located on Altera’s corporate web site at www.altera.com/b/integration/int-registration.jsp?purpose=contest.
The product must use Altera devices from one of the following device series: Stratix® series (including Stratix, Stratix II, and Stratix GX FPGAs), CycloneTM series (including Cyclone and Cyclone II FPGAs), or MAX® series (including MAX and MAX II CPLDs).
Awards to be given:
- Best Integration of Multiple Digital ICs
- Best Integration of a Single Application-Specific Standard Product (ASSP)
- Best Microprocessor Integration
- Best Digital Signal Processor Integration
- Most Innovative Integration of Digital ICs
Altera reserves the right to give additional awards.
Individuals with winning contest entries will receive:
- A digital television of at least 50” diagonal (approximate value $2,000).
- US$15,000 worth of credit towards the purchase of Altera design software products or MegaCore® intellectual property products (with the exception of the PCI Express MegaCore product). Credit must be applied within one year of receipt.
Approximate value of prize = $17,000. Shipping will be paid by Altera. All local taxes, fees, etc. to be paid by award recipient.
Entries will be judged by a panel of Altera representatives based on a number of factors, including:
- The amount of cost reduction achieved by using the Altera solution compared to alternative solutions
- The amount of additional performance achieved by using the Altera solution compared to alternative solutions
- The amount of additional flexibility provided by using the Altera solution compared to alternative solutions
- The amount of design time saved by using the Altera solution compared to alternative solutions
- Any additional positive impact achieved by using the Altera solution compared to alternative solutions
Winning entries will demonstrate that the Altera solution provided significant and quantifiable cost reductions, performance increases, additional flexibility, time-to-market benefits, and/or additional benefits compared to alternative solutions.
Contest finalists may be contacted for additional information about their design. To win, contest finalists will be required to provide:
- A print-quality (300 DPI) photo of their product or board that uses the Altera devices
- A favorable quote about the Altera product(s) used in the winning design, including the name of your product or project and your name, title, and company/organization name
- Approval for Altera to use the above items publicly in any promotional activities
Submissions will be accepted until November 30, 2005.
All contest submissions will be entered into a drawing for an RCA Lyra Audio/Video Jukebox, built with Altera devices (see "Official Rules for the 'Get More with Integration Drawing' for an RCA Lyra A/V Jukebox" below). The winner of the RCA Lyra Audio/Video Jukebox will be announced on or by December 31, 2005. Visit the Customer Success Stories Winners page after this date to see the results of the drawing.

All contest submissions become property of Altera Corporation. Limit one (1) submission per design using Altera products.
Altera reserves the right to publicize or promote any information submitted as part of the contest with the exception of individual names and company/organization names included in contest submissions. Altera will seek permission from the individuals and companies in question before publicizing or promoting their names.
Altera employees or employees of Altera’s sales representatives or distributors are not eligible to enter.
Odds of winning: approximately 1 in 5,000.
Rules for "Get More With Integration" Drawing for RCA Lyra A/V Jukebox
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
- How to Enter: The Get More with Integration Drawing (“Drawing”) begins at 11:00 AM Pacific Time on December 15, 2005, and ends at 12:00 noon Pacific Time on December 15, 2005 ("Drawing Period"). No purchase is necessary.
- To enter the Drawing by mail, print your name, address, and telephone number on a 3-inch by 5-inch index card ("Mail Entry Form") and mail it to: Altera Corporation, Attn: Get More with Integration Drawing Manager, Channel Marketing Dept., 101 Innovation Drive, MS 1201, San Jose, CA, 95134, USA. Each Mail Entry Form must be mailed separately. Mail Entry Forms must be postmarked by November 30, 2005 and received within three (3) business days. Multiple entries entered by other than human means (i.e., other than hand-printed or hand-entered for Internet entry) are ineligible.
- Internet Information Entry: First, use a computer or other Internet access device to access the "Get More With Integration" information registration web site at www.altera.com/b/integration/int-registration.jsp?purpose=information ("Web Site") by November 30, 2005, 11:00 PM Pacific Time. Once on the Web Site, register and enter your information. To enter the Drawing, fully complete the Internet Entry Form and then transmit it by clicking on the "Submit" button. Information requested on the Internet Entry Form consists of your name, company, title, address, email address, telephone number, and the "Get More With Integration" solution that interests you. LIMIT ONE (1) INTERNET INFORMATION ENTRY PER SOLUTION PER PERSON/HOSTID/GUARDID/NICID.
- Internet Contest Entry: Anyone who enters the "Get More With Integration" Success Story Contest (“Contest”) will be automatically entered into the Drawing. To enter the Contest, register at the following web site: www.altera.com/b/integration/int-registration.jsp?purpose=contest ("Web Site") by November 30, 2005, 11:00 PM Pacific Time. Contest rules can be found at the following web site: www.altera.com/b/integration/int-contest-rules.html.
- LIMIT ONE (1) INTERNET CONTEST ENTRY PER DESIGN PER PERSON/HOSTID/GUARDID/NICID.
- Eligibility: Only legal persons, (i) who are physically located and residing in the Continental U.S. or otherwise eligible under applicable local laws, (ii) who receive an email invitation to the Net Seminar directly from Altera, (iii) who are 18 years of age or older as of the commencement of the Drawing Period, and (iv) who are engineers or engineering management members currently employed by a company that is currently involved in the design, manufacture, and selling of products that incorporate or have the possibility of incorporating programmable logic devices (PLDs) (semiconductors) manufactured by Altera Corporation, or who otherwise properly submit the Mail Entry Form, are eligible to enter the Drawing. Employees of Altera Corporation, including its distributors and sales representatives, and those involved in the development, production (including prize suppliers), implementation and distribution of this Drawing, and their advertising or promotion agencies, parent companies, agents, officers, subsidiaries, service providers and affiliates, and any other persons or entities directly associated with this Drawing ("Drawing Entities") and members of the immediate families and/or persons living in the same household as such persons are ineligible to enter the Drawing or win the prize.
- Prize/Odds of Winning: One (1) Prize RCA Lyra AV Jukebox (US$350 value) will be awarded to the winner. No transfer, substitution, or cash equivalent for the prize is permitted, except at Sponsor's sole discretion, due to prize unavailability for any reason and then only for prize of comparable value. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Any depiction of prize is for illustrative purpose only.
- Drawing and Notification: One (1) winner will be selected in a random drawing on December 15, 2005, from all eligible entries received by the Sponsor for the applicable Drawing. The winner will be notified by phone and/or mail and/or email. If the potential winner cannot be reached after a reasonable effort has been exerted during ten (10) business days from the date of the Drawing, or if he/she is found to be ineligible, or if he/she cannot or does not comply with these Official Rules, such potential winner(s) will be disqualified and an alternate winner selected.
- General Conditions: This Drawing is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification of winner and an alternate winner may be selected. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor and its agencies to use the winner's name, address (city and state), statements, biographical information, voice, photo and/or likeness for advertising and trade purposes without further compensation, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known and hereafter devised, including without limitation online, unless prohibited by law. Entries become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Any person attempting to defraud Sponsor or in any way tamper with this Drawing will be ineligible for the prize and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If, for any reason, the Internet portion of the Drawing is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or infection by computer virus, Sponsor, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel the Internet portion of the Drawing and conduct the Drawing from all eligible mail entries received. Void where prohibited by law.
- Judging: This Drawing is subject to these Official Rules that will be posted at the Drawing Web Site during the Drawing Period. By entering the Drawing, entrants agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in the Official Rules or the Drawing itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. By entering the Drawing, entrants affirm that they have read and accepted these Official Rules.
- Disclaimers: Entrants agree that Drawing Entities shall not be liable for losses or injuries of any kind resulting from acceptance/possession and/or use/misuse of prize, participation in this Drawing, or any technical malfunctions of the telephone network, computer online system, computer dating mechanism, software, or any combination thereof, or any illegible, damaged, lost, late (including delayed transmissions), mutilated, forged, destroyed, tampered with, misdirected, postage due, incomplete, mass machine printed, mechanically duplicated entries or entries otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, and such entries will be disqualified. Entrants also agree that the Drawing Entities are not responsible or liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or third person's computer and/or its contents, related to or resulting from any part of this Drawing.
