Toolrama develops automotive diagnostic equipment for customers such as Diablosport. They were asked to upgrade the performance of the Diablosport Predator, a state-of-the-art, high-performance tuning flash programmer that advances a vehicle's timing, optimizes the air/fuel ratio, and remaps the transmission shift points in automatic transmissions. Toolrama chose the combination of Cyclone devices and a Nios processor, which helped them to complete their goal with an extremely short development cycle. "The combination of Cyclone devices and the Nios processor has been a great fit for our automotive diagnostic products. In our Predator product, the industry-leading low cost and flexibility of the Altera® solution enabled us to replace an off-the-shelf processor, add features, and increase performance.
