Altera is committed to investing in the communities in which we live and work through company support of employee volunteer efforts. We focus our efforts on programs that we believe have a positive and meaningful impact on the future of our employees and our local community. We believe that our investments today in health, the environment, and education go a long way towards building a better world for the next generation.

Altera's volunteer program through the Altera Community Team (ACT) provides non-profit organizations the opportunity to request volunteer support for community activities such as walk-a-thons, service projects, and community volunteer events that involve a group of Altera employees.

Altera Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy Statement
Altera is committed to conducting its business operations in a manner that sustains the environment and protects the health and safety of its employees. Altera strives for continuous improvement in its environmental, health, and safety program and has set forth the following objectives:
- Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards

Altera Lead-Free Devices
Altera is committed to providing the best environmentally friendly programmable logic solutions and maintains one of the most extensive lead-free product offerings in the industry. Driven by this commitment, Altera has shipped over 15 million lead-free products since 2002.
RoHS-Compliant Packaging
As part of Altera’s drive to be the preeminent supplier of environmentally friendly programmable logic solutions, we confirm that our lead-free devices comply with the maximum concentration values, as required in the EU Directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (“RoHS Directive”) No.2002/95, with respect to (a) lead (Pb), (b) mercury, (c) cadmium, (d) hexavalent chromium, (e) polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and (f) polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

These devices include the entire range of Altera device packages—from the 8-pin, small-outline integrated circuit (SOIC) to the 1,508-ball, flip-chip FineLine BGA® package.
