"It's a knockout 2001"
Altera's United Kingdom office got involved with the "It's a knockout 2001" Charity Fundraiser event at the Wycombe Carnival. The charity was the Lain Rennie Hospice, which provides specialist-nursing care for patients who wish to stay in their homes during the final stages of their terminal illness. Employees raised over £491, including a donation of £150 from Altera.
Benefiting a Special Baby Care Unit
Altera employees held a "Toys for Tots" toy drive during the 2000 holiday season. Over 450 toys were collected.
Visiting Various Charitable Organizations - Pengang
Altera's Penang employees teamed up to help those less fortunate in their community by visiting various charitable organizations, primarily focusing on children and senior citizens.
Along with monetary donations, the employees collected food and medical supplies. They also volunteered their time and shared their good spirits with those in need.
Raya Corner - Penang
During the Raya and Christmas season, Altera's Penang employees held a canned food and gift collection to donate to charitable organizations in their community.
Donation to Rumah Kanak-kanak Taman Bakti Orphanage
Altera's Penang office donated RM1000 to a local orphanage for the purchase new tables, benches, and chairs. They also donated disposable diapers for the 22 babies at the orphanage.
Blood Drive - Penang
66 employees (32% of Altera's Penang employees) donated blood in Altera Penang's first blood drive.
