Description
The PLD Applications PCI20K-PROD boards are designed with high-density I/O connectors to support custom daughter cards that contain customers' proprietary processes/applications. This architecture speeds time-to-market because customers do not need to develop the PCI board design and manufacture, PCI bus interfacing, or PCI drivers. Instead, customers can focus on their proprietary design on the daughter card and use the PCI20K-PROD board as their prototyping and production PCI platform.
The PCI20K-PROD board is well-suited for applications such as high-speed data acquisition, networking, process control, imaging. The board is entirely programmable and customizable to meet a customer's specific requirements.
The customer can design the daughter card with support from PLD Applications. PLD Applications also designs custom daughter cards or custom (modified) PCI20K-PROD boards to meet customers requirements for larger volumes. Contact us for details.

The board programming is performed via an Altera programmable logic device. The PLD Applications PCI core is loaded into the device, along with the application logic. The customer creates the application logic; PLD Applications can also create the logic on demand. The PCI20K-PROD can be reconfigured via the PCI bus, either by reprogramming the EPC2s or by reprogramming the FlashProm device.
When purchasing a board, the customer specifies the required board configuration (e.g., the Altera device, connectors, memory, I/O kit, etc.). PLD Application creates a board that is customized for the application.

- Exerciser/test software for various operating systems
- Optional software toolkit including access functions library and drivers for various operating systems
- PLD Applications PCI cores for PCI interface management in the Altera device
- Optional Altera MAX+PLUS II development software for synthesis of the core and user application
