Altera的微系统IP功能为片上可编程系统（SOPC）提供了可集成性，以及灵活的外设并支持多种标准总线接口。
设计人员可以从Altera的综合库中选择集成设计环境（IDE），UART，中断控制器以及PCI总线桥等外设构建最优的定制功能，实现特定的应用。
Altera快速增长的标准总线接口功能组合使用户可以在SOPC设计中加入芯片到芯片、电路板到电路板或者机盒到机盒的连接。微系统组合的宏功能可无缝加入外部存储器，以太网接口，PCI，PCI-X，通用串行总线（USB）以及下一代处理器接口。
