RapidIO
The RapidIO™ standard is a high-performance, packet-switched interconnect technology designed to pass data and control information between microprocessors, digital signal, communications, and network processors, system memories, and peripheral devices. The RapidIO Trade Association (http://www.rapidio.org) defines the RapidIO standard.
Designers can leverage Altera® programmable logic devices (PLDs) to create custom solutions for their RapidIO standard architectures, including processor endpoints with Nios® or ARM® embedded processors, digital signal processing (DSP) end-points with signal processing megafunctions, RapidIO switches, and a variety of RapidIO bridges that include PCI, PCI-X, HyperTransport™, system memory, and peripheral devices.
