ACCESS Certification Program
Altera has established the ACCESS Certification Program for individual industry tools to complement the Altera® Commitment to Cooperative Engineering Solutions (ACCESS) Program®. In order for a tool to be ACCESS-certified, it must undergo extensive regression testing targeting Altera devices. The regression testing may be performed by Altera or by the third-party EDA partner. If the testing is performed by the third-party EDA partner, Altera will validate the procedure prior to certification. The certification process is an additional metric that a customer can use to judge the level of compatibility with Altera products.
There are third-party EDA tools that may be used with Altera devices that have not been officially certified. These tools are not device-dependent and may also be used with Altera devices. Please contact the third-party EDA partner for further information.
Altera Certified

Altera works closely with its third-party EDA partners to develop testing procedures to ensure the highest level of product compatibility. Products that are designated as “Altera Certified” have undergone extensive regression testing performed by Altera engineers. The “Altera Certified” designation provides an additional level of product compatibility assurance.
Partner Certified

Third-party EDA partners who test their product(s) specifically for Altera device compatibility may receive the “Partner Certified” designation for their product(s). Partner-certified testing is performed by the third-party EDA partners using Altera-reviewed and -approved procedures. Altera will also perform intermittent testing on these products and will report any problems to the third-party partner to be corrected. The “Partner Certified” designation provides another level of quality assurance and demonstrates Altera’s commitment to provide real customer solutions.
