Stratix II/Stratix II GX Device Passive Parallel Asynchronous Configuration
You can perform a passive parallel asynchronous (PPA) configuration using an intelligent host, such as a microprocessor. During PPA configuration, data is transferred from a storage device, such as a configuration device or flash memory, to the Stratix® II/Stratix II GX device on the DATA[7..0] pins. Since this configuration scheme is asynchronous, control signals are used to regulate the configuration cycle.
Configuration methods in PPA mode include:
- Using a microprocessor
- Using a MAX® II device as an external host
