Jam Programming Support - Data I/O

Data I/O is a leading provider of programming and automated device handling, programming and marking systems for programmable integrated circuits. For over 25 years Data I/O has been at the forefront of programmable device technologies, providing design and manufacturing solutions covering the entire spectrum of programmable device applications.
With its acquisition of SMS Holding GmbH, Data I/O introduces its support for the Jam™ device programming and test language. The Jam Player is a part of the new Sprint programming software for Windows Release A/98 and is available for the universal single programmers Sprint Plus48 and Sprint Optima as well as for the universal gang programmers Sprint Multisyte and the automatic Parallel Programming Handler PP100/200 with up to 24 programming stations.
The Sprint programmers offer the following features :
- Support of Jam Files (.jam) created by Altera's MAX+PLUS® II software
- Universal support of more than 8,000 programmable devices
- Universal support of all technologies (including low voltage and antifuse)
- Universal automatic programming systems for production
- In-system programming support via the IEEE Std. 1149.1 (JTAG) interface
- Windows 95 and Windows NT support
- Software updates via Internet, BBS, or CD-ROM
The universal Sprint device programmers support the Jam Player, which interprets Jam programming files produced by compiler tools. The Jam File contains both programming algorithms and data in a single file. Therefore, the Sprint system can program devices according to the vendor's exact specification without implementing new algorithms into the Sprint programming software.
