Altera’s Certification
Altera has a quality system that meets ISO 9001:2000. Altera is audited periodically by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) and a copy of the certificate is available here.

Altera’s Supplier Certification
Altera's San Jose facility is also certified (PDF) to STACK International's Level I and Level II requirements. Altera has confirmed that the standard qualification procedure, product monitor program, and manufacturing process it uses meet or exceed the specified STACK International Supplier Certification Program requirements.
Quality System
Altera partners with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (TSMC) to obtain nearly all of the silicon wafers it uses. TSMC has a quality system that meets both ISO 9000 and QS 9000.
Altera partners with independent subcontractors, located primarily in Asia, to assemble and test its semiconductor products. All of these partners have quality systems that meet ISO 9000, QS 9000, and TS 16949.
 
Environmental System
Altera’s silicon wafers and assembly and test partners have established an environmental management program that meets the requirements of ISO 14000.
Altera’s manufacturing partners are required to have a commitment that is consistent with Altera’s values. Through the environmental management system, Altera has been assured that the partners are conducting business in an ethical, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable manner.
All manufacturing partners are encouraged to adopt an environmental policy that is consistent with Altera’s Environment Policy.
