About Using the PALACE Software with the Quartus II Software
You can use the Magma Design Automation PALACE software to perform physical synthesis on a design after compilation with the Quartus II software. The PALACE software generates an optimized Verilog Quartus Mapping File (.vqm) with the options specified in the Physical Synthesis page of the Settings dialog box. The PALACE software launches the Quartus II software in the background to compile the new, optimized design after generating the optimized Verilog Quartus Mapping File.
