Compile Design
To compile your design in the Quartus® II design software, click the  button or use keyboard short cut <Ctrl>+L.
While your design is compiling, a small blue hourglass symbol will rotate and show the percentage of the compilation that is complete (shown in Figure 1).

For a quick first-time compilation, turn on the “fast fit” feature (on the Assignments menu, click Settings, then choose the Fitting Settings section).
Deselect this item later when you are fine-tuning the timing on your project.
